So I did go back up to Murphy's parking lot and they had three patch bays that were each $1; however, they all had wire contacts in the back instead of actual outputs for instrument cables, so they wouldn't've worked for me so I didn't pick any up. Though before I came home I picked up a whole bunch of Maine Root soda from Fresh Market 'cuz there was a sale. Yeah. But it's SOO good! I finished reading Transparent Things by Vladimir Nabokov yesterday. It was quite good. I hadn't read him in a good while, so it really felt like I was back with an old friend in a way. It's not one of his best, but it's still really solid and his style is still a present force. Mary Beth and I watched a little bit of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (which we hadn't watched in forever) and I laughed a shit ton. Horace was acting like Horace in a lot of way. First there's been the meowing and tyring to wake me up way too early in the morning (this started happening during the workweek as well). Also I let him out into the front porch-ish area and he jumped up on the sill to spend a good while looking out the window. He's been getting a lot less bony too. So those have been some good signs for him and they make me happy (yeah, even his obnoxiousness while I'm trying to sleep, in its own way). Mary Beth and I also ordered some pizza after taking a walk in the park yesterday. We did a pretty good go-through winding through the trails (and of course undid the exercise with the pizza, yeah). I was cleaning this morning before practice and had a nice fun horror story while cleaning the litter boxes. I was cleaning the one in the bedroom (I had already done the other two so it was as full of litter as possible, it was also overfull to begin with so it's all right there on the top) and I'm a little cramped for space and end up knocking the fucking trashcan over. You know, where you see it start to fall in slow motion. Right onto the floor. So all the litter and shit and clumped piss and bad watermelon go right onto the floor. Yeah. So I woke Mary Beth up with the crash and my cussing. Anyway, The Family Ghost practiced this morning. We went over the two songs we came up with last week, this time with Ryan there. It took forever to get started 'cuz Jacques couldn't find the sample he used on the John Carpenter knockoff. I ended up recorded a similar sound on the Moog and loading it onto the sampler. After that I went to the Panera in East Memphis for the Memphis Forward meeting. Okay, that's about it for now.
