IDEs of May

Goofy thing that started off my morning: I get to work, get my laptop out of my backpack as usual, dock it and turn it on, go back to my backpack to get my water bottle, forget what I'm looking for and assume that it's my laptop, freak out thinking I'd left my laptop at home (especially considering how shitty traffic was this morning and knowing that it's always even worse in the other direction with the construction), turn around and get really confused when I see my laptop booting up right where it's supposed to be (at least for a few seconds until my brain returned). Today was also a day of a change. Eclipse pissed me off to the point where I'm trying out Netbeans now. After rebooting my dev environment and getting a fresh copy of everything from SVN, all kindsa shit fucked up. It no longer recognizes a project's dependency on another project (maven builds still work, so it's just ide stuff) even though I'm specifying it in the build path. Also, unless I turn off "build automatically" it just builds the workspace in a perpetual, unending loop. I think that's a problem I encountered at some point before, but I can't remember what I did to fix it. Anyway, got real frustrated with that shit so I downloaded Netbeans and am trying out. Some things are much easier and I don't have these configuration nightmares from hell. But I am missing a lot of Eclipse's features/shortcuts etc so we'll see. I'll definitely keep Neatbeans around in the case that everything just completely shits the bed (which is probably just an inevitability) and I'll try to get Eclipse back up and running in my spare time. But until then it's completely unworkable right now so Netbeans it is. Anyway, just got through with Horace's first bag of the hydration liquid. Each day he seems to eat more and more which is just great.
