I did some more phone banking on Monday. The last day! Then the primaries were yesterday, of course. A bit of a nerve-wracking day. I went up to Cafe Ole after work to help set up stuff. I even helped set up some streamers. Not surprised about the results, but I'm not too down. We got a bunch of our worst states thrown at us at once (including this damn one I live in). But happy about Oklahoma and Minnesota and Colorado (and of course Vermont, but it's not like that's a surprise, but a good sign as to how huge the blowout there was...I also think it's telling on a level given how consistently high his approval ratings are in his state). A bit disappointed with Massachusetts (but at least it was close) and I guess mostly disappointed with my own county (the gap was especially bad here even compared with the state as a whole, I guess I'd hoped Memphis for Bernie had a bigger impact). But it was a good night. And it's only 15 states and the race is far from over. We passed out flyers announcing the "announcement" of Memphis Forward that's gonna be happening on International Workers' Day (that's our continuation of the political revolution going forward!).
Had a long day at work today. Working on shit and my laptop was just being slow as hell. For a while I thought I was having issues where my code was locking up, but it was just my computer hanging while I was getting back the soap response. Anyway, some stuff for the other team's big deadline and since the hackathon is tomorrow I won't be able to work on it for a whole day so I stayed a bit late. Also, they're doing it a little different this year and they assigned teams ahead of time (you could form one ahead of time if you wanted, but I didn't). Anyway so I saw my team and also seeing the team name ("Docker? I thought we wore jeans...") which leads me to believe our project will be revolving around docker, which I don't know much about at all. So it looks like my plan for tonight is to do a little studying up to figure out what it is while Mary Beth is off at the movies! Oh, and I also left my badge at home when I got to work. I always keep it in the compartment between the seats. Well, I got to work and couldn't find it there or anywhere in the car. Spend most of the day with the inconvenience of not having it. Mary Beth checked at home and couldn't find it. Didn't think it could be at home for various reasons too boring to enumerate. Anyway, eventually went out to my car and finally found it...exactly in the same place I always keep it. It was just perfectly sandwiched between some other objects as to elude my search. And there you have it! Exciting lost badge anecdote!
