The band practiced for the first time in weeks and it was kinda lame. Paul was over an hour and a half late. Then Jacques couldn't get his sampler to work and spent forever cussing and being angry while everyone else sat around some more. We said we could work on something else since that wasn't working. Still waited. Finally when Ryan said he had to leave pretty soon we got to jamming. We worked on this thing that everyone else seemed pretty into, but I wasn't into at all. I guess that's not out of the norm.
I left out a bunch of shit in my last post. Let's catch up a little on that. On Friday we had a team lunch at Ching's Wings. Pretty damn good shit. I ate a mountain of fuckin' wings. The seasoned ones were the best. I think one of my former students was working there. She came by with drinks with our main waitress. She kinda turned around and waved. I almost didn't catch it. Didn't see her again. Now I feel she didn't think I acknowledge her or care. But I kinda had a late reaction. Speaking of former school, I ran into Mr. Delaporte outside of Best Buy as I was leaving with my dad. Talked to him for a minute (he was my sped coteacher for first period last year). He was telling me how Dr. Hunter took up a bridge math class and he cotaught with him. The students apparently didn't do any work for him either, hah. Okay, Friday night Mary Beth and I went to an art show centered around books (like, books being a physical medium in some manner) at Glitch. There was some really cool stuff there. Alexis Kraus's work stood out to me especially. The pages were kinda carved with these geometric patterns. Last night we went to a poetry reading at Crosstown Arts. Anything else I'm forgetting? If so, I've forgotten it.
