Doin' Thangs

Last night I watched The Decameron and enjoyed it. Then I finally got my admin privileges today at work! Just a little before lunch. I had been in a meeting all about the stuff we need to find out and all that. Getting a little anxious as all these people in other areas seem to be expecting things of me. And then there seems to be some mild office politics where there's this one guy who they don't think knows his stuff 'cuz he's never listening to anything and he keeps putting off excuses at the web services (my domain) so they want me to make sure to have my stuff down with that. Gadzooks! Well I got a message that the dudes were here to set my stuff up so I went and it's finally done. Apparently the person who's in charge of that is out for a while (don't know why the requests weren't forwarded to someoine else though...) so I guess that's why it took so long. Anyway, got my stuff set up and even got the server and .war files deploying in eclipse (at first thought it wouldn't happen and would have to do all that stuff in the command prompt and browser which is a little annoying, but I've had some time to play with stuff and get it set up though I couldn't test it). Okay, so I finally have some work to do! (Well, I kinda started getting the work already, but wasn't so much where I could do things.) Right now it's kinda detective work. Finding out if methods exist in the web services that alredy do stuff that needs to be done (had some success there) and then figuring out what web service is actually being called on a site (a little trickier, but working on it). Okay, that's something. What else? Stopped at the grocery store to pick an item up on the way home from work and my car almost didn't start. It kept turning and I had to hold the key for an insanely long time before it started up. And it hasn't been driving so great (same as before). Guh, I don't need to go through this shit agian. Anyway, called about the healthcare tax stuff tonight and got some answers and help with how to file an exemption. So I finished taxes tonight and if all goes well then the refund will be pretty nice. Hopefully this stuff doesn't bite back and give us a headache. Okay, that's about it for now.
