Moon Rainbow
Oct. 10th, 2014 01:53 pmI forgot to mention in my last post the awesome thing about the night before last. Mary Beth was outside and came to get me to look at the moon. It had the hugest halo around it, very bright and clear with a diameter taking up almost half the sky. In the edges you could see a bit of the spectrum, so it was a moon rainbow through the hazy clouds. I was pretty impressed with it. I ran in to get the new camera and tried taking some pictures. They didn't capture what it actually looked like to the naked eye, but they looked pretty cool. Anyway, so to today. I went to that job interview thingie and it was pretty lame. It was the same job that's been kinda hounding me a little bit for the past couple weeks. Selling insurance to union members, pretty much. At first I had a short interview and was asked to come back for a second one in about 45 minutes. So I did and that ended up being more of a presentation with a bunch of the candidates in the same room. It felt a little on the pyramid scheme side, not exactly, but enough. We also had to watch a couple corporate-type videos. It was funny in their contrast. The first one talked all about their clientelle and the workers and the unions and the children and the blue collar and the backbone of america. All well and good. The second talked more about opportunities for success in the company and ran like a get-rich-quick infomercial. Right after I was the first person called to talk to the lady I interviewed with first, but I quickly told her I wasn't interested so I could finally go home. In a way it felt like a total waste of my last "weekend" morning, but I did go in for the interview practice so that was worthwhile.
