Random Access

On Monday, we went to the Memorial Park Cemetery to have a picnic with Josh and Molly and Maria and Lila. Saw the Crystal Grotto for the first time since I was a kid. And so my vague memories of cheesy religious stuff proved accurate. It was a nice time hanging out and eating. We also saw Steve Cohen there and that was kinda neat. Afterwards we went back to Josh and Molly's place. Played some ping pong and Josh whooped me. Then we watched the Lego Movie, which was good. The satire was pretty sharp, especially in the beginning; they did backpeddle and soften the blow a bit with the more family-friendly ending, but it was still good. Mary Beth and I have spent the past few days watching the Ken Burns Jazz documentary, which is goofy. We've got two episodes left. I know so much has been said about what's wrong with it. I'd probably have kept avoiding it had it not been given to me. It did remind me that Louie Armstrong was pretty good early on, but he still got so fucking bad and they just won't shut up about him even when he has nothing to do with anything; I mean, I knew that going into it, but still. Last night I met with Josh to get started on our web project idea. It turns out my ideas may actually be good. We now have duties, and I'm in charge of the visual layout so I'll be working on that. Very exciting and I've got ideas for this shit.
