Paul had said he was gonna sing his song yesterday, but he didn't show up so we finished mixing "Histrionics" instead. That's been our biggest task so far. Lots of hours and practice, due to midly complicated sequencing. But finally into the evening we got it done. Some minor mistakes, but overall I think it's good. The overall sound is really good, so that's what matters. Josh came over and took me to this reggae festival at the Hi-Tone. The first band that was playing when we got there (Chinese Dub Connection Embassy) was pretty good. They did a cover of that "ice cream love" song that I know from a dub on Scientist's Wins the World Cup album. Then it was a midly slope downward in quality from there. The next band was okay, but pretty smooth sounding so we weren't terribly into it. The rhythm section was pretty good and there were elements that were alright. The band after was kinda like that too, except they hit one kinda funk song that was terrible. The band we left for was just awful. Coming at reggae from the 311 side of things. It had a "groove" and the singer was just awful. But it was fun hanging out and chattin' with Josh. Got a real late start this morning. Well...afternoon...evening...fuck.
