Practice yesterday was alright. We concluded that, yes, the only thing left to do on this recording (recording-wise) is Paul's vocals. That's it. The downside is that Paul still doesn't have them ready. So with nothing left to record and the ability to play loud, we just messed around a bit. Practiced a couple of our songs. My drumming ability having turned to complete shit was pretty apparent when we ran through "Cameras." We also jammed a bit on a light funk thing. I was playing my eurorack and having fun. We recorded it until the batteries died and I'm trying to upload it so I can link it here, but I'm having trouble with the internet. (Will this even post? Golly.) So it wasn't long, but it was fun to play some and it's nice to know how close we are to finished. We have an ultimatum for next week. Afterwards Mary Beth and I took advantage of a free evening and finally had dinner at Lotus. The food was really good and the warnings about waiting were spot-on. We were there seriously for three hours. And this isn't fancy fine-dining or anything either (the opposite actually). I was ready for the wait though and I wasn't paying attention to the time (until towards the end, which was to my advantage). Followed by some more Simpsons watching and passing out. Now it's time to take advantage of my Sunday. Hm.
