Saturday Snow Day

Last night Mary Beth ordered some Young Ave. Deli delivered and sat in watching The Simpsons and Hannibal. I've missed some episodes, but I'm really enjoying this show (would've expected to dislike it, but it takes a completely opposite approach from what I would have assumed, and I guess what would have been the easy route for such a show). Woke up to snow all over (but now it's melted quite a bit). This season has had snow and ice bombarding the entire country and seems to be skipping Memphis entirely (light dustings aside...and we still get the incredible COLD that's going along with the weather everywhere else). Well, so naturally the snow does finally hit right at the beginning of the weekend! An irony much noted by us teachers. And those nights I sat refreshing the school closings lists. Ah. Anyway. Thursday I picked up some new cat toys (I'd left their normal ones out a while back and they hid them and we can't find 'em anymore). I got the classic rainbow strip and I tried this new one with a little heavy-for-its-size mouse at the end of a semi-rigid string. It's pretty awesome 'cuz they're flipping the fuck out over this new toy. They seem to love the shit out of it. So that's good. It's got a little metal piece where the toy connects to the string and it makes this rattling noise when you move it against the ground or stuff and that really gets them going. Okay, I need to clean some stuff so that's it for now.
