Near

There was pizza Friday night. Yesterday morning/noon there was doughnuts. Few cds in the mail yesterday: Tangerine Dream: Thief soundtrack and Akira Yamaoka: The Best of Silent Hill (though turns out it's all rerecorded stuff and Jacques says none of it's the really awesome noisy stuff from the first game, though still good...ah well, the regular soundtracks are near impossible to come by). The band came over to practice/wrap up tidbits of recording, but Ryan never showed up. Paul did some drumming. He added some bass drum to the drum orgy at the end of "Battle Chant" since he had to leave that week. We took a bass drum turned over on its side propped up on a folding chair and stool. Then he added snare to the intro thingie that's gonna segue into "Homage." Distant mic'ed from a few rooms away. Jacques recorded the vocals to "Cameras." We listened to a few more things we thought we might need to redo and turns out they're good. Jacques, for example, doesn't feel the need to redo his vocals on "Doctorate." There was one new one, Paul thinks he needs to redo his bass on "Cameras." Now that's the only "loud" thing left. It's really getting damn close to nothing left but mixing. In the evening I was craving nachos so we all went out with Mary Beth and went to an eastern Huey's 'cuz the one right by us was too full. Anyway, after a super-lazy morning here I am. AND I don't even have to work tomorrow! Oh shoot! And I nearly forgot Jacques's late Christmas presents! (But hey, my presents for him still haven't come yet!). He gave me The Nightmare of Reason: a Life of Franz Kafka by Ernst Pawel and Retro Game Master Game Center CX Collection dvd set.
