Yesterday Mary Beth and I met my mom and dad at Interim (finally making it there) for a belated mothers day thingie. My parents seem well and the food was good. I got some shirts in the mail Monday for some books: two for The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald (one of the cover and the other one from the 8 bit video game with a pixilated Gatsby saying "game over old chum!") and one for For Whom the Bell Tolls by Ernest Hemingway. There was a bit of news I wanted to bring up last week, which is now ironic this week. Last Monday I had my final evaluation and it went okay. I was recommended for re-hire, which was nice at the time. Today I was called into the principal's office and told that they received a call yesterday and had to change that because I had a score of 2 for two years in a row. He said someone from Labor would be calling me soon and that he was optimistic that things would work out in my favor because of my perfect attendance and a bulk of my score is brought down by the school-wide scores I have to take since I don't teach a tested class. We'll see. I'm nervous about having to wait to be contacted by them. I emailed my MEA representative to see if there was anything I should do. We'll just have to see how it goes. I had been in a real good mood with the year so close to being done with (and the satisfaction of 'knowing" I was back at the same school next year). There was something I forgot to mention that happened last week (the craziness of the trip made me forget). Friday morning, the space heater in the small bathroom in the bedroom had randomly turned itsef on and could not be turned off. Mary Beth had to figure out what was going on while I went to work. She had to try every circuit breaker until she got the one that turned that bathroom off (it was an addition and its breaker is in a separate place). I'm just glad she and the apartment didn't burn down. It was getting real hot. I guess that's all for now.
