It was back to Whitehaven last night for open house. Was there a little while. Afterwards I celebrated the day by getting some fast food chicken at Jack Pirtle's. Mary Beth and I went to see the Warm Girls at the Lamplighter. They were pretty good, didn't play long. The next band was from Italy and were the usual generic rock and roll that comes here. They had a few surfy bits that were alright to listen to. It was, of course, really late by the time I got to bed. Ms. Reichman picked me up this morning to go to the practitioners summit at Six Flags over Jesus. At least this year they split elementary and secondary teachers on different days. Getting in wasn't as bad as getting out, but that probably wasn't as bad as last year. The material and stuff was pretty boring and not super-useful and just being in that place is lame as hell. Lunch was alright. Same as last year (brisket sandwich). The meat was pretty good, definitely better withOUT the crappy barbecue sauce (at least it was in packets). I also again spent a good bit of downtime in the same remote lounge on the top floor that I found last year. I came home to a new shirt (ordered it a good while back though, with the Pauline Oliveros box set and other Important Records stuff): a Merzbuddha shirt. I'm not sure I realized it also said "love animals don't eat them" on it too, but as that's my favorite Merzbow album, it could probably say just about anything. And nothing against that sentiment, just don't like feeling hypocritcal while I wear it. I also took a nap so I could be refreshed to do some work. I am more refreshed, but also spaced out. Lose lose.
