Raw & Psychedelic Afro Sounds
Jun. 15th, 2012 09:25 amYesterday I went up to Sangri-La to sell off that superfluous Popol Vuh cd I had 'cuz I couldn't sell it at Spin Street the other day. Anyway, there I hit the awesome-70s-African-compilation jackpot. In all, I got out of their used bin: African Scream Contest, Ennio Morricone: An Ennio Morricone-Dario Argento Trilogy, Nigeria 70: Lagos Jump, Orchestre Poly-Rythmo de Cotonou: The Vodoun Effect 1972-1975, Orchestre Poly-Rythmo de Cotonou: Echos Hypnotiques 1969-1979, and Nigeria Rock Special!. The Family Ghost got together to practice for the show last night. We went over a new cover as well as our new arrangements with the whole band. It went very well and we sounded pretty awesome, so I'm excited about the show. I pissed off my neighbors by practicing on a weeknight without telling them. Hopefully I've made amends and I won't do that shit again.
