the last day of summer
Jul. 31st, 2011 10:04 amFriday night, as Mary Beth and I were settling into bed for the night, we got notified of hanging outs with Paul and Shawna so we got dressed and met 'em at the Buccaneer. Well, there was a show and a cover and as the aim was to talk and stuff, I made an exasperated and/or pained face after Paul had paid and walked in (I couldn't actually communicate by talking). He agreed with my exasperation and/or pain and got his money back and we went to Bosco's instead. So we hung out and talked and stuff. Yesterday Mary Beth and I went to the Brooks for Monet to Cézanne/Cassatt to Sargent: The Impressionist Revolution. It was good stuff and all. A lot of the paintings I'd seen before at the Brooks and Dixon, but it was nice and fun. Oh, and it came with a ticket to the similar exhibit going on simultaneously at the Dixon (which we'd probably planned to go to anyway). Well, today's my last day before going back to work. I know I should've done so much more to get ready by now. Argh. I think I've been in denial of summer's end. Okay, a few things that have been left out of my posting marathons of late: on day in Pittsburgh we stopped by Mary Beth's favorite old bar Gooski's (up on Polish Hill). The bartender was playing My Demon Lover on vhs and that was, uh, it. Also, this week after getting back (wait, last week I guess since it's Sunday now) I went back to the audiologist to pick up my earplugs (this was Tuesday). So now I have fancy, expensive earplugs again! I won't let anything happen to 'em this time. I guess that's all I've got for now.
