ateolf: (Zelda)
a pretty lazy day off for the most part...it gave Mary Beth and me a chance to plow through season four of The Wire...also, i finally broke down and sent off the Wii for repairs...it hasn't been working in forever...it'll be nice to have one again...and speaking of Nintendo nerdiness, i pre-ordered a 3DS as well...i mean, i couldn't not...also, i sort of made a little song with a couple recordings i made on my new handheld recorder, just testing it...i played a few drums (hi-hat/bass drum/roto tom) holding it up close/inside for lots of sustain and tapping 'em with my hand...and once i was listening back to 'em on my computer, who can help but to run a nice sound backwards? i was just doing so for my own amusement, but i had the two files and thought they might sound cool together...so i put my two recordings turned backwards into the same track and it sounded pretty good...one file was a litlte longer so i repeated part of the other one (forwards and then once again backwards)...i also looped a couple seconds of the other file at the end to match up lengths (nothing you really hear, but you'd hear if i hadn't...and it's a bit tedious to line up a loop right so it doesn't make clicks...the final result isn't PERFECT, but when i stopped listening for it i stopped noticing it at all...) anyway, here it be!:
