okay, so yesterday was registration day and i was on the book distribution team, going around with the guy who's my mentor getting as many books as we can to the classrooms...also, it was a long day: 8-3 and then back 6-8...i guess for parents who aren't able to make it in the daytime to register their children...everyone also had classroom time to get things in order...i started making a bunch of improvements to my classroom (did some more today)...in the interim i watched a movie with my lovely wife...then today was supposed to be this district in-service thingie whre everyone takes these class thingies online...well, apparently the school board or whoever didn't expect, you know, everyone to be logging on at the same time for some reason so they were unprepared and the servers were overloaded and no one could get into that...so it was just kind of a random day of getting stuff in order...also, at one point i was walking down the hall and heard what i was pretty damn sure was Coltrane coming from one of the classrooms...the guy wasn't in at the time, but i came by later when he was and some jazz was playing...i mentioned having heard Coltrane coming from his room and we talked about for a while about good jazz...he asked what else i like and the first thing i mentioned was Sun Ra and we commiserated about other great jazz stuff...he's older and talked about having seen Sun Ra and Herbie Hancock and how he has over a hundred Sun Ra records and how his son is named Coltrane...so that was pretty neat and crazy...oh, and when i mentioned what i listen to he was like "oh wow you like the free shit"...the workday ended a little early too 'cuz the power was getting cut off a little after two...i must say i do enjoy leaving earlier even if i do need to spend more time getting my shit together...i met Ryan at Knowledge Tree to do some teacher shopping though i didn't find much there...i ended up charging the few things i did get to Melrose so i hope that gets straightened out alright...i guess i need to talk to the financial secretary...i was feeling pretty good, now i'm getting a bit overwhelemed by this whole teaching thing again and the fact that i'm really not at all sure how to do any of it...i dunno, hopefully i can get some shit together...i neglected to mention last week how Mary Beth and i hung out with Dustin and courtney, uh last tuesday i guess...Dustin and i messed around with a little music, the results of which he posted on his soundcloud...it's not all that great, it was just kinda messin' around, i think other stuff we've done has been better, but that's it anyway...then the group of us went to eat at La Guadalupana...afterwards Mary Beth and i went to see some movies at the drive-in...we really went for Eclipse but as it was a double feature we saw Inception too, well, we missed the beginning, as we'd just seen it we wren't in all that obsessed that it was too late to catch the beginning...i do kinda see why drive-ins have fallen out of fashion...it always seemed wrong to me...but sitting in a hot car unable to roll the windows down 'cuz of mosquitoes...(i did make that mistake early on and we got eaten up...) but it was a nice experience...and i do enjoy the fact that they still use the decades upon decades old intermission reels...Eclipse wasn't nearly as funny as the first two Twilight movies...it's like they got self-conscious about all the ridiculous stuff and tried not to be too embarassing but then it's just boring and sucks...(you know, the same as before, but less funny...i mean, there was some funny, but not as much...) anyway, i think that's about it for now...
