first birthday

saturday was pretty eventful...Mary Beth and i went to the library bookstore and i got some books: Anne Frank: the Diary of a Young Girl, Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel, The Crucible by Arthur Miller, The Satanic Nurses and Other Literary Parodies by J.B. Miller, On Liberty by John Stuart Mill, An Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding by David Hume, Lady Chatterly's Lover by D. H. Lawrence, Sons and Lovers by D. H. Lawrence, and The Octopus by Frank Norris...of course the obvious ones (#1 and #3) i read when i was a wee lad so getting my own copy for cheap is always nice...then we went to Josh and Molly's for Maria's first birthday party! that was fun...and David gave me some held-over presents: Miminokoto: Live and William Hooker with Eyvind Kang & Bill Horst: The Seasons Fire...oh and i also got a cd in the mail: Throbbing Gristle: Journey through a Body...after the wild party a bunch of people wanted to get dinner at the beauty shop and we accompanied...and then after that we went to the p&h to see Ryan play in his band...the other bands were atrocious and i was super-sleepy by this point...so i guess that's all...tomorrow's the big day...i gotta wake up super-early to be at the doctor...that's lame, but anyway...
