books and stuff...
Aug. 2nd, 2005 08:28 pmlast night i finished reading The Plague by Albert Camus, and i read all of The Pill Versus the Springhill Mine Disaster by Richard Brautigan...i guess that's something, but not much of something...because: 1) it's a short book to begin with, 2) it's a collection of poems so the word density on the pages is pretty low, and 3) as it's Brautigan, the previous two are compounded to create a whole slew of brevity...(i almost never ready poetry...i pretty much only read this book 'cuz it's sandwhiched between two novels in this anthology or whatever...but i guess a little poetry here and there can't kill me...especially when it's a writer as swell as Brautigan...still doesn't compare to his prose or nothin'...) then it was work today...more guruing Matt...more business...oh yeah, and i got an email last night from this band that's friends with this other band from elsewhere that Jacques and Brad talked to at this show last week, and The Family Ghost most likely has a show at the Hi-Tone on september 5th...i guess more details when i have 'em...also today at work i got my requested day off confirmed (i had to take it 'cuz of all that crap involving the corporate changeover crap...) and it's for the day after our show at the end of the month (not to be confused with OUR SHOW THAT'S HAPPENING THIS SUNDAY...) okay...i guess that's all i have to say...
