ateolf: (i ♥ George)
thursday night Tim, Jason, Amanda, and i had an ice cream and cookies party...it was totally swell!!! uh...yesterday was kind of cool 'cuz i was able to wear my Throbbing Gristle shirt!!! i didn't think i'd get to for like months 'cuz it's long sleeves...but it was all overcast yesterday and not blisteringly hot so i managed to get away with it and all was well!!! i got some mail: A Certain Ratio: To Each. . . it took forever to get here 'cuz when i ordered it i accidentally mistyped my address so it got sent back then sent again...what sucks is i ordered another cd at the same time (from Insound, but i guess they came from different locations) but it didn't get sent back...so i emaed 'em about it, and hopefully i'll get it soon, damnit...it's a cool cd, yeah...then last night Amanda came over and we just sat around talking about what we should do but we didn't do anything...Tim sat around some as well...we did talk about stuff...the future and all that...woah, man...speaking of the future i found horrible, horrible news about a movie adaptation of A Scanner Darkly...firstly, i had heard something else about such a movie, i think in the filmographies on the Being John Malkovich dvd where it mentioned a screenplay in the process of being written by Charlie Kaufman as "Scanner Darkly" so i got excited 'cuz of anyone i could think of doing a good job with that it'd be him...but then Jason tells me they're in the process of making a movie of it...fucking Keanu Reeves is the star...as well as some other lame people...it's being directed by that fucking jackass that did Dazed and Confused and Slackers and a bunch of other SHIT...it also said he wrote the screenplay...so now that this hollywood shit-fest (yet another Philip K. Dick masterpiece being raped by the fast action summer movie market or whatever...) i'm sure will keep whatever Charlie Kaufman may or may not have been working on from ever getting made...which sucks 'cuz that would actually have potential to actually be the good Philip K. Dick adaptation (well, Blade Runner was good...overrated, and not great...but still good...especially after i finally saw the director's cut which was like a billion times better than the lame version the studios made 'em put out...though still the title annoys me to no end as it has nothing to with the book or even the fucking movie itself!!! but that's a whole nother story...) anyway the article Jason showed me mentioned how Philip K. Dick is the most adapted SF writer in hollywood or something...that's fucking sad...it'd be one thing if they did him justice instead of pillaging his brillinant material for cheesy big-budget sci-fi schlock...i mean, there's plenty of genuine shit action-movie-ready sci-fi out there for the taking...why do they have to keep fucking with the good stuff? and it pisses me off even more 'cuz A Scanner Darkly is one of THE BEST FUCKING THINGS EVER WRITTEN!!! and it's the kind of book that would really be hard to make into a good movie, even for someone who didn't suck ass...which makes it all the worse that this hoard of people who suck ass are dragging their soiled feet all across it...anyway, i guess i'm done ranting about that...oi...

Jacques and Amber picked me and we started off our afternoon of fun with a dining experience at Fino's...then we went out to Guitar Center...i bought two 7-guitar stands (yea, i have a lot of guitars) and one was the display one so i got it like $10 off...swell...then we went to Music Town and i got another trombone mouthpiece as well as some slider grease (hehehehe)...then we hit a few pawn shops...at one i got the fucking Back to the Future dvd box set...why? i don't know...it was relatively cheap...so yeah, now we can have a Back to the Future marathon...awesome! cowabunga!!! but THEN at this other pawn shop i got a new guitar!!! well, not new but new for me...it's a telecaster copy...a pretty nice one too...it almost looks just like a telecaster (the headstock's a little bigger and looks more like a standard fender headstock and it says "Rogue"...) it's sunburst and has a black pick guard and it's pretty nice...it plays fucking well and sounds like a fucking telecaster and it was only $130 so it was a sweet fucking deal...it would have been dumb not to get it! yeah...then they dropped me off at home and i had some more mail for me: my new Moog shirt...it's a huge picture of a Moog 3C modular synth (i.e. the gigantic fucking modular synths...) it's like the coolest thing ever...i'm gonna wear it and be cool...i just took a dump and Jacques went back to his place to take a dump of his own...i think we're supposed to meet up again later and hang out...unless he pussies out and i'll have to kill them...yeah...
