clean it up!

after class i worked...it was a nice rush...after that i went to the practice space and did some rearranging work...it's been pretty disorderly lately...a bit of a mess...and now that there's a new amp, i thought it'd be a good time to get it more organized...i arranged all the amps in your basic row formation in font of/next to the drums...the way the room gets power provides a bit of a problem...we have an adapter coming from the light socket: in the center, on the ceiling...so all the plugs are coming from the middle of the room...on top of the fact that two giant wires are dangling from the ceiling...i rigged up a system of taping the two extension cords to the walls...freeing some much needed space...i also straightened up the big mess of cables that had been all over the floor...and put the recording equipment a bit more out of the way...the front part of the room's a bit of a mess, but the area where we'll be playing is quite nice now...i'm pleased...i also got the chance to really try out the new amp...ooh! it does this one thing w/ the microphone that our previous setups had not...you could plug in the mic, turn it up to a decent volume w/ the levels set right and...NO FEEDBACK! amazing...we've barely been able to hear the vocals at all as of late...having to turn it down and cut off all the treble...i also tried out some synths on it...i had the Synare tuned really low and the amp just gave the most wonderful bass response! the vibrations were shaking me...it's fuckin' awesome! my mouth has tasted like some horrible combination of ass and socks tonight...i haven't been feeling sick, but there's this sinus drainage happening...pretty sucky...when i got home the sheet music for my high school alumni band concert was waiting for me...sweet...one more thing: my cd collection has outgrown my shelves...i'm prob'ly gonna have to end up getting that 1500 cd model...that should hold me for a good while still...they're dern expensive though...but i guess worth the investment...it'd be silly to keep getting these 400something ones and keep outgrowing them constantly...Lizzie's getting jealous of the computer...i guess i'm done for now...oh, i almost forgot! last night i saw this interview thing w/ David Lynch on IFC...i think it's great seeing someone i admire be almost as bad at speaking as i am! it's refreshing to see someone "uh" and "ummm" and the like so much...we don't get enough of it on the television nowadays...
