started reading Crónica de una Muerte Anunciada yesterday and it took (i'm guessing) about a half hour to read a little over a page...maybe less, i wasn't keeping track of time, but definately more than fifteen minutes...FAR too long anyways...having to look up most every word...then i started making his mix tape...someone had completely disconnected the stereo downstairs so i had to reconnect everything which was a mild pain, but something that had to be done...i'm mostly through w/ side one, but i can't yet divulge its contents so far, as i'm a freak and for some reason feel it should be a surprise or something...i'm very quirky when it comes to stuff like this...i'm hoping i'll be able to fit what i want to fit...getting to that halfway point where what's no longer gonna fit starts becoming more and more apparent...i might not be able to pick back up on it for a few days though...i'm hoping i wont', i shouldn't, but i prob'ly will which'll mean schoolwork that needs to be done that won't be...damn my procrastination...

in spanish class this morning my teacher announced that this'll be her last semester here and next fall she'll be teaching in Boston...she started getting all weepy...it was kind've sad...i like her, even though she gives too much homework...we watched a bit of a documentary movie type thing: El Hombre, cuando Es un Hombre (A Man, when He's a Man)...it's pretty cool...found out my presentation is thursday...damnit! this is gonna suck...my topic's violence in the novel (Crónica de una Muerte Anunciada)...i'm gonna have to do a buncha research tomorrow and that's gonna suck...after class today i went and did a few errands...first i stopped off at Target to get an envelope thingie to mail the mix tape i made for this girl about a month and a half ago (pretty bad...how fucking long it took me to actually send it, that is...) then i went by Bookstar in order to completely pansy out: i got the english translation of the book we're reading in spanish (Chronicle of a Death Foretold, as it's called in our language...) but it's gonna take FAR too long to read in spanish...more physical time than i have...i'll still attempt the spanish reading, just not quite yet...i also got Amerika by Herr Franz Josef Kafka to read whenever i get through w/ Concrete Island, i guess...then by the bank to deposit my check...then by the post office to send the tape off...now here i am back home...i wonder when the fuck i'm gonna finally do this damned op sys hw that's been haunting me for a week now...i also have calc hw due tomorrow...blah...

oh, also, our swimming pool was de-winterified while i was out of town...the dogs are quite happy about this, especially Leala...her favorite thing to do in the world is to watch the pool and bark at the Polaris cleaner thingie as goes around the bottom collecting dirt...she can stay out there for hours watching it and running around barking at it when it comes near the surface...it's quite cute...

more in my completeness of the New York experience: sunday as we were walking around, i witnessed an attempted drug deal...i had to go to the bathroom really bad so we were walking around looking for a public restroom i could use (not as easy a task as it might seem, in that bustling metropolis of New York City...) we found a little park and i went to its restroom...i went to the back and saw that the toilets were all lined up behind this wall w/out any stalls separating them...so i decided i'd just urinate and keep the search up for a restroom elsewhere...and as i was leaving the janitor kicked these two guys out for dealing and told 'em this was the last time and stuff...it was amusing...in my completion of the NYC experience...or something...

when i arrived at my operating systems class this afternoon/evening i realized that our second programming assignment is due today...and i still haven't gotten to the problem set that was due a week ago today...and tonight i have to do my calc hw and tomorrow i have to research/prepare/stuff my presentation for spanish...and thursday is The New Year show...so i doubt i'm even gonna get to all this at all 'til friday...oh well, he doesn't count the weekned as days (in terms of stuff being late...) i'll squeeze in time somewhere...i just need to quit this endless procrastination...but i'm going to catch up, damnit...by this weekend, damnit...
