ateolfparticipated in some consumerism yesterday...went over to Mars for their "5th anniversary birthday sale" (really just a big clearance of the crap they have too much of and can't get rid of...) i bought me a mic for $20...Audio-Technica MB 1000L (Midnight Blues...d00d...but it was twenty dollars and it's a microphone: okay in my book...) i also spent a good time there playing w/ the Korg MS2000, pretty cool...makes some neat noise, but not the coolest thing ever...then i went to the Drum Shop and bought a new pair of sticks...i haven't had a pair of MY sticks in forever...now i'd be neat if i could get to my drums and actually use 'em...then i swung by Lastchance and Shangri-La before work, raiding their used bins...this is what i got between the two:

i also hung out w/ David and Justin W. and watched an episode of The Family Guy...after work i went to Justin H.'s but he wanted to watch Fritz the Cat...i was like "no, that movie's shit..." so we went over to Brad's...a game of Aggravation was played...Paul showed up...Brad got all pissy and went to bed as is not too uncommon...it was decided to go to the Pancake Shop...on the way we noticed a display of cars much akin to an auto accident...i'll tag this little story at the end as it has nothing to do w/ me and just involves ppl you most likely don't know...but it's a nice little wacky story...so Justin, Paul, and i ate at the Pancake Shop, i dropped Justin home and Paul at his car...i went to Jacques' and played GTA3 again for a few hours...i also came up w/ one of the coolest words ever: "slambulance"...no practice happened again, this time i can't find a reasonable excuse...i guess it's just too difficult a task to call someone back...
i slept all day today...i started looking at my big take-home exam for dynamical systems...soon i'm gonna get back to that, hopefully i can get to all the other shit i have to do for my other classes...bleh...
so we notice the cars, as well as noticing Leah and Philin standing there, so we stopped...apparently some redneck woman sideswiped Leah, Philin was following her and stopped as we did...this woman was all wanting her not to call the cops...she said if they showed up she'd get arrested 'cuz she was busted for DWI in AR a year ago and doesn't have a driver's license w/ her...she said her house was just around the corner and wanted her to follow her there and she'd fix her up w/ any cash she'd need or sign something or whatever...just begging her not to call the cops...but she called the cops so she'd get something as proof for the insurance...they showed up and it turns out this woman had a knife concealed in her back...yea, not following her turned out to be a REAL good idea...(oh yea, we're also pretty sure the woman was drunk, for the record...as if that's just not almost a given...) the cops were gonna give Leah a misdemeanor ticket thing for not having her insurance...hers had expired a month ago or so and she got the new card but hadn't put it in her wallet yet...so she just had the old card...but they'd have to take her downtown and do all the fingerprint/picture crap and it'd go on her record that she had an arrest but she wouldn't go to jail...the charge would be dismissed when she went to court, but the arrest crap would still be on the record...but one cop asked if she had any way of getting the card here, so she called her mom (this was like 2-something am) and got her to drive the card out so that's cool...Philin stayed w/ her to wait and we left 'cuz Justin was whining the whole time about being hungry...that's all...
