Yesterday was exciting in that it was the last Friday I'll work for the rest of the year! Had a bunch of vacation built up since I didn't use it all year for the obvious reason of not having anything to do with it. So I took off one week and the rest all the Fridays remaining in the year (plus there are the two holidays). I finished up that written interview and sent it on. Hopefully my answers are decent and not too incoherent. I'd wanted to give it a good once-over afterwards but I'd written too much so I just sent it along before it was too late. Mary Beth started reading Priestdaddy by Patricia Lockwood to me and it's very good and very enjoyable so far. I've busted out laughing very loudly a few times already.

In my voting post I'd meant to rant a little about John DeBerry but then I forgot. So I'll do that now. He's our state house representative and has been so for a while. He's always been horrible and even though he hides behind a D next to his name, he's always voted just like a fucking Republican (anti-choice, homophobic, etc etc). So he'd always get the primary, I guess just because it's a low-profile thing and he can just soar on through and then runs opposed in the general and I'd gotten to where I just skipped that one. Anyway, the Tennessee Democratic party booted him from being eligible in the primary this year since he never fucking votes with the Democrats (and maybe even the move was a semi-shady backroom-ish affair, but seriously fuck this guy). Anyway, so Torrey Harris won the primary and he's actually good. DeBerry is running as an independent. Well, we're in the line and there's this giant sign with both Trump and DeBerry's faces on it linking them together. I'm first like, who the fuck thought this was a good strategy for him? We're in the middle of the city and it's pretty solidly Democrat (even if we have a huge share of shitty Democrats). I mean, it's good to see him not hiding behind the D anymore. But I saw something that the signs weren't legit (I guess put out by a pac set out to hurt him) and that makes sense too. But it's kind of funny. Anyway, hoping he's finally out of there. I guess most people don't really even know anything about him because there's not a lot of focus on that level of government but it seems like everyone who does know anything about him just hates him and sees him as a blight. But in that and our U.S. senate (and of course our U.S. house, but that's Cohen and he's always there and always good) I got to straight up vote for everyone I voted for in the primary so it was all candidates I stand behind and that are good so it's a nice feeling for once. (The only one I didn't vote for in the primary was Biden of course but it'd still feel amazing to vote for anyone against Trump.)
