The Big Move Downtown

Today was the day of the big move to the new headquarters downtown. Pretty exciting, but I'll back it up in a more linear fashion to yesterday. Mary Beth and I met my parents and nephews at Soul Fish for my mom's birthday. We went at an early off-hour, at four, and it was weirdly crowded as fuck. Like massive amounts of large groups. I was kinda surprised my dad was up for waiting so long. Maybe it's a Sunday lent thing. Not a whole lot after that. I did some work. So yeah. Then there's today and I went to work in the opposite direction. The commute is much nicer on my end. It helps that 240's had all that shit traffic with the construction, so now I don't have to go through that. So far getting into the garage and all has been pretty easy. Not everyone's moved over yet. We were the second group and there's either one or two more waves. The space is pretty nice. I like all the new furniture they brought in. I like where we sit. I mean, that'll probably change in a few months when the split happens, but still. My team is all down one row and not in a bay-like thing where we could turn around and everyone's there. But I mostly don't have any complaints. My desk was broken and wouldn't rise up when I got in. So I had to sit super-low. But someone came around and fixed it in the afternoon. Not too much else. One of the production issues seems to have gotten resolved. Still struggling as to why this file we're sending over is getting "corrupted" but mostly others are looking into that one. Well, there you go. I feel like I should have more to say. My reading time at lunch may be increased a bit. There's a good break area right near where we sit and I don't have to change floors to eat or none of that no more. Anyway, all pretty exciting.
