Did a bit of working yesterday evening. Not too long 'cuz Mary Beth and I went to see Kamasi Washington at the New Daisy last night! I had gotten asked to do some deployment (was asked yesterday) but I've had these tickets for months so I got someone else to do it for me. Anyway, the show was really good. Well, the opening band was called Moonchild and they were not good. Kinda hippie bro chill jazz, post-edm bangin' comedown music, I imagine. Saw a few people there: David and Nate and April. Kamasi was really good. Probably even better than when I saw him last year. The set was longer as it wasn't a festival. Also it felt more expressive. I think he had a few fewer musicians on stage, I don't remember the exact numbers though. It felt more immediate and a little more expressive. After the show I picked up some merch: The Epic and Harmony of Difference on cd and a t-shirt. Okay, then there was work today. Just trying to get shit together to get through this pi before the code freeze. Hopefully we're past the main frustrations but we still have another cr for a firewall. Then there was one issue we were getting on the systems team over but it ended up being a problem on our side on one of our config files. So yeah, woohoo. Anyhow, that's about it for now. Ooh. Luís put out that album where he collaborated with a bunch of people around town and I'm on one track. My contribution isn't very good though. It's when I first dusted off my eurorack after not having messed with it in forever and my performance is a little lackluster. But maybe I'm just listening too closely to myself. His stuff is pretty cool.
