Mary Beth and I started off yesterday going over to Broad for a small business day thing where we walked the length of it and checked out all the shops, even got a little holiday shopping in. After we got home from that and grocery shopping, while Mary Beth is still putting groceries up, Trudy gets her head stuck in the handle of one of the gift bags and freaked out and proceeded to run frantically around the house dragging this bag that's maybe about her size and crashing into shit all over the place. We quickly caught up with her and calmed her down and took it off her head, but a bit of a freaky thing for a second there. Really sad to hear about Pauline Oliveros's death yesterday. Her music's meant a lot to me over the years (especially her electronic stuff from the 60s) and I feel lucky to have been able to see her live back in 2002. She will definitely be missed. I got a cd in the mail: Inside Deep Note: Music of 1970's Adult Cinema (from a different source and not a cdr this time, yeah yeah). What else? At night Mary Beth and I went up to Midtown Crossing for the Standing Up for Standing Rock show. Because of the name, I was thinking it was going to be stand up comedy but it was a music show. Which is fine either way, we mostly just wanted to support the cause. Mostly the music wasn't that great/my thing, the last act TNT was pretty good (he's the guy that's heads like every local social justice organization and he does some rapping on the side). Spence was there and we talked to him a bit, which was nice since we hadn't seen him in forever. Oh, almost forgot. I did finish the second season of True Detective last night. It was okay. I think I liked the season more early on, when it felt slightly surreal and a bit off. It got a bit more straight up actiony towards the end. I didn't hate it or dislike it or anything, but overall just okay. Anyway, that's about it for now.
