Brought Mary Beth along to the Memphis Forward meeting on Sunday. Had a potluck and general brainstorming. Afterwards we did some more coat shopping. Swung by Bargain Hunt as it was nearby and I found a coat that doesn't seem terrible for quite cheap so I was very excited about that. Yesterday after work, Mary Beth and I went by the candlelight vigil starting off trans awareness week. Then we went over to Ben's place where he was having a house show with Other Colors in his backyard. I was sure I'd heard this band before online, but it might have been a different band with the same name or I was just confused. First it was sort of a solo project but with all the band members in a slightly different configuration. They were both (the solo project and the band) had a pretty heavy The Sea and Cake influence (the solo thing was more acoustic). They were okay. The band band was better, jammier and less fussy. It was a good time hanging out in Ben's backyard and two stray kittens (obvious siblings) came over to hang out. Now I'm back home again after work today (a slightly hectic day, but alright). I had this cd set in the mail waiting for me: Electronic Yugoton - Synthetic Music from Yugoslavia 1964-1989.
