A lot to catch up on! My computer being really shitty and a lot going on the past week has kept me from updating like I should've, but let's get back at it! What can I say about Monday? Nothing I don't think. Tuesday? We went to a free screening for this semi-local movie called Mississippi Grind. It was pretty good. A gambling road trip buddy movie of sorts. It definitely had some good things about it. Wednesday we went to Crosstown Arts for the Graceland Too exhibit. Midly weird seeing Paul McLeod's stuff up on walls. It definitely wasn't the same not being cluttered and strewn all about his house. There's a documentary about it that I hope is coming out soon. I also picked up a t-shirt. Nice. Also, I finally got my Autechre poster hung up at work. So I was feeling all cool. I'd attempted with tape first and didn't succeed. Then I got some wall putty and it also didn't succeed. But then I combined a different type of tape with the wall putty and it did succeed... That is until I came in Friday and found it had finally fallen down. Balls. The wall is too textured, not sure if I can manage. I'll see if I can find something better today. Friday was also some "tailgate" thingie. Which means hanging out outside and eating free food (like the it appreciation thing a few months ago). And what was the free food? Gus's! Fuckin' awesome! Mary Beth was jealous when I told her about it so we went and got (more, for me) Gus's later that night. No regrets. And at work, I ate the food. Then I ate some ice cream. Then someone announced there was still a lot more chicken so we should eat more. So then I capped it all off by getting another piece. Yeah. Also, while standing around Matthew and I talked about music ('cuz Patrick brought up my going out of town to see a band). He'd heard of Kraftwerk but the description he'd gotten 'em mixed up with was that of Einstürzende Neubauten. Oh, and earlier this week (maybe Wednesday) it was announced that the guy who is my manger's boss has been promoted to CIO and the guy who was CIO was promoted to president of AHS (that's the brand I work under, one of the subsidiaries of ServiceMaster). So I guess that means good things. A lot of activity on thisismyjam the past week. Saturday was the last day, sniff sniff. And that wasn't even a full day. It was archived in the morning. But my activity brought me to exactly 500 jams (the day they announced the last date, I calculated and realized one jam a day would get me exactly to 500). So I was up early in the morning on Saturday, earlier than I'd even intended. A sprinkler shower from Trudy up above in her basket (from shaking her head, just to be clear on any other interpretation of "sprinkler shower") gave me the feeling I wasn't getting back to sleep. Well, I'm going to stop here and I'll continue to more exciting things in another post.
