Was still running into tedium and frustration on Friday, but I got to the point where even Mafaz realized it was at a dead end and we needed some help from someone on the database side. So that's fine. It was also a go home early if you're in a "good place" day. People left earlier than me but I was staying around 'cuz I'd been stuck on this problem and felt like I hadn't accomplished anything in days. So when I finally got to that point I felt fine about leaving so I still got to go home at about 3. Paul (M. née C.) popped over for a second to borrow a midi keyboard. He'd been talking alot on the facebooks about early electronic music type stuff and since that's my favorite sort of shit lately, I thought it'd be fun to collaborate. So I think we will. Which is pretty damn exciting. Today Mary Beth and I went down to the Cooper Young crawfish festival (there's gonna be a crawfish festival every weekend for the entire month, pretty crazy). We'd gotten tickets online yesterday, but there was a huge line (which only got longer and longer). We waited an hour, but the weather was nice and we got to watch these little girls playing ball and it was cute. We also saw some dog butts. They'd run out of vegetables well before we got our stuff (and it seems like maybe there was less crawfish being dished out too, but maybe that was just lack of other stuff). As we were leaving we overhead someone there talking about how there were supposed to be two trucks instead of just the one. It seemed like something had gone wrong somewhere. Anyway, we took our stuff home and ate it on the back porch. It was pretty nice, I must say. Then back out running errands, as we drove by Martin Music I thought of picking up some tubes to see if that's what was wrong with my amp. But I tried 'em out when I got home and it's not the tubes. It's still doing the thing where you have to turn it way up to hear and then it gets really really hot and smells like burning. I guess I"ll be needing to get it checked out soon. Blugh. I guess that's about it for now and now to enjoy this day.
