by chance, saturday night, Mary Beth and i noticed that there was a production of Pinter's The Homecoming in town and that the next night was its last...it was at 7 and by chance i got off at 6 that day so we went after work...i believe it's the first time i've ever been to a play i'd already read beforehand (not that i see plays often at all...) it was fun to see it...the acting wasn't great (with the exception of the guy who played Max, the dad) and they were trying Brittish accents without much success (and when there was success, the border between English and Irish seemed to have been lost...) but it was fun, and they didn't overpause Pinter's directions...oh yeah! right after the last line was spoken "kiss me!" and right at the instant the lights began to dim a woman in front of us said softly but clearly "aw shit" and the whole theater (including the actors now preparing to bow) laughed pretty hard...and while everyone was leaving i heard her say "now that was just too weird"...the "aw shit" was a good moment, though...anyway, that's about it for now...
