last night Mary Beth and i hung out at Dustin and Courtney's...well, i got a little something from Dustin: Autechre: Chiastic Slide...okay, i witnessed him buy this album twice...once the cd at a store and then somewhat recently the mp3 album online...when i saw him buy it a second time i was like, dude, you already have that album, i was with you when you bought it...he didn't remember it...well, he came across it again when cleaning out his car as he's gonna sell it 'cuz they got a new car and all, and it's now mine, sweetness! i should also mention in regards to Dustin's generosity that a little before the wedding he gave me a drum machine (Boss Dr. Groove DR-202)...he was having issues with it and liked the drum machine so much he just bought another one...and since it's not in perfect working order he handed it down...it works for the most part, i actually haven't had time to play with it yet my own though...i finished reading Moby-Dick by Herman Melville at work today...great book! it's one i guess i'd avoided for a long time thinking it'd be like you know, lame old book, but no...possibly one of my favorite books now...and more spain stuff...i bought a little book at the IVAM's gift shop: IVAM Guide, predictably enough...at the MuVIM gift shop i got this little chapbook (Febrero n. 7: Publicación semestral Junio 2009 poetry and other writings...looked pretty interesting...maybe someday i'll be able to read it and find out for sure...i also got a couple books from a bookstore around the corner from the bed and breakfast: Cálculo variacional (ejemplos y problemas) by M. L. Krasnov, G. I. Makarenko, and A. I. Kiseliov (calculus in spanish! how cold i resist!?) and La comedia salvaje by José Ovejero (never heard of him, turns out he hasn't been translated into english yet...and this book is new so i knew it wouldn't have been and it looks interesting...maybe i'll be able to read it some day? it'd be cool to read contemporary writers in another language...maybe i'm being idealistic...) oh, and i have a very pg-13 to r rated memory of our trip! so we're on the beach and swimming and stuff and this older woman starts taking her top off...i'm thinking to myself, man, she's confused, we're not at a nude beach! but, oh yeah, they just do that over there...i should have remembered lesson number one from every bad "european vacation" movie ever made...but alas, i had forgotten for the time being...i didn't see many boobs or anything...the beaches weren't close to crowded...i saw two pairs...that's what i learned in europe...
