them damn orientals

i got my sunday switched for that weekend when Mary Beth's parents are gonna be in town so now it's all good...and here's a little story, actually this happened yesterday...first i've gotta give a little background about my work...well, some places (primarily like unemployment and windsor medicare) put the relay number on whatever information they send out to people like at the bottom of crap they mail out to people...so some jackasses see this number at the bottom and when i guess they can't seem to get a live person to their satisfaction with the main numbers they just start calling any fucking number they see on their sheet thinking they can get through faster somehow even though i think before the number it says "for tty" or "deaf or hard of hearing" or whatever...so anyway, we get a TON of wrong number calls all the fucking time...so yesterday i get one that i assume is that but from a guy that's an especially amusing jackass...the call comes in and i say my opening script and he starts cussing saying things like "is there a damn live person" and "aw shit" very angrily...but then after i say it twice, he says like he's talking to someone else in the background "I ain't heard nothin' but one of them damn orientals. I don't know but it sounds like he's squinch-eyed." and then he hung up shortly thereafter...i don't know why anyone would think i sound asian, but i enjoy the anecdote...

The one TTY phone in my entire damned company is on my desk. Has been since I started there almost seven years ago. Every day, this phone rings about 1,000 times with no one typing a reply when I answer, and I assume this is because people don't want to call my company's regular phone number and wait to talk to someone.

The TTY phone is really shrill, and there's no way to lower its ear-splitting ring.

My only vindication is knowing that I'm giving these fucking heels an unexpected earful of modem tones when I send the greeting.

i LOVE sending tty noises at people when i know they're calling the wrong number and not responding and i know they're just sitting there listening...especially them damn pranking kids...i don't get to every time i'd like but when i do it's so much fun!
