snow falls, Low rocks

for some reason, Thursday night, after i went to sleep at 9:30 i woke up 5 hrs later or so at 2:30...this is after being uber-tired all day too...i wasn't able to get back to sleep at all so i was awake 'til class...went to my classes...went home afterwards and tried to take a nap before i was scheduled to pick Paul up from school at 12:30 but i couldn't sleep then...picked him up and took him back to The Apartment...while there i watched Un Chien Andalusia...i had seen most of it at the Two Dollar Guitar show last year (as they showed it, among other things, on the projector as they played...) dear god this album is fucking great!!! (the lyrics on "The Good Thing," as w/ most all of David Byrne's lyrics, are fucking amazing...As we economise, efficiency is multiplied, To the extent I am determined the result is the good thing.) anyways...i returned the videos that were around The Apartment, some of which i knew were late, and went home...i was able to sleep for some hours before it was time to go get rocked by Low...i was stupid though and forgot about charging the batteries for the video camera...i charged 'em some after i woke up, but not enough...but anyhow i went over to The Apartment to go w/ Jacques and Amber...(Girls are getting into abstract analysis, They want to make that intuitive leap. They are making plans that have far reaching effects. And the girls want to be with the girls.) Paul had already walked to the Hi-Tone...(from which he left before/shortly after Low started playing, as he tends to do at shows...) so we went (we were very early) but they wouldn't let Amber in because it was 21+ and she's just under 20...so i drove her back...Jacques was saying he wanted to go w/ her but she didn't let him...him not having gone would have been bad anyways...but a bunch of ppl we know and stuff were there, including Brad who still didn't even give anyone his new phone #...and who is now showing very much disinterest in the idea of being in the band...the opening act was very good, i thought...i can't remember her name...but Jacques and i have a theory that her drummer is actually Birdstuff (from Man...or Astro-Man?) he looks just like him as and drums a lot like him...hrm...i wonder if MOAM is still on tour or not...i felt bad 'cuz ppl kept talking throughout the show...i would've bought her cd afterwards but i spent all my money on the necessary Low merchandise items...then Low came on and ppl kept on talking (they Hi-Tone's fucking terrible about that...it's a fucking awful venue...) but in spite of this they played a great fucking set...it was prob'ly the best show of the three of theirs that i've seen...they even did "Do You Know How to Waltz?"...a REALLY great version at that...they seemed quite annoyed through the set though...stupid assholes who would NOT shut the fuck up...even when this was directly addressed by the band on stage and the ppl up front in the audience kept yelling at them to shut up...speaking of being up in front in the audience, i was right in the middle at the very front...very close, and even though my batteries gave out, i got a good amount of the show...and what i got was prob'ly really good as it was so close...and i'm sure all the audience noise won't show up too bad, as i was so close and the mic was pointed away from the audience and all...oh! they even did a brief cover of "Jesus" by The Velvet Underground...it was great...after the show i got their new cd (Things We Lost in the Fire) which won't be out in stores or anything 'til the 5th (i'm c00l), the new single (Dinosaur Act / Overhead / Don't Carry It All), and another Low shirt...the first one that's easily noticable as a Low shirt too...oh yes...through this whole time i forgot to mention that it was snowing yesterday...the whole day pretty much...lightly...it was a nice snow...it was snowing when i left for school in the morning and it was snowing off and on up through the show...afterwards i took Jacques back home and went home myself...oh yes...Jenna was at the show and afterwards she gave me her Aphex Twin: Come to Daddy cd...she didn't like it a lot or something...fine by me, free cd and stuff...yeah...but now here i am home and stuff and i'd better do some cleaning today...my dad's been really upset at me lately...he tried to actually block my car in last night, but i was able to stunt drive around and stuff...he's blocking me in again, though i could get out if i wanted to, but i need to be cleaning anyways...blah...
