a translation...
Aug. 14th, 2005 05:51 pmfinished reading Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut last night...started up on my spanish "lessons"...i'm reading Ficciones by Jorge Luis Borges in spanish a chapter or story at a time and then read the corresponding chapter via the english translation...so i started with the bio and description on the cover (though there's no translation for that, of course...) that alone took me forever...but the more i go the more i seem to adjust...maybe...as far as the book itself i made it through the preface, which does have a corresponding translation...there's one thing i read that grammatically boggles my mind...i mean, i was able to get the gist of what it was saying, but i can't make any sense of why it was written the way it was...i don't know if it was some sort of playing around with the grammatical structure or what...probably just something my little mind isn't aware of...
today i mowed my grandmother's yard and it seems like it was the hottest ever...it was fucking horrible...this was after i was woken up early by my neighbor waxing or whatever their car in the parking lot with r&b blasting from it...and later The Family Ghost practiced...it wasn't our most productive practice but oh well...
