ateolffriday night, in an excited haze after getting a car, i went on a little spending spree...i went by spin street and got:
The Simpsons: the Complete Fifth Season (my main reason for going...i mean, i'm ashamed to have gone so long without being able to get it anyway)
Life of Brian (the criterion version...)
The Office: the Complete First Series (and used too!)
and a couple used cds:
Aphex Twin: Windowlicker
James Brown: In the Jungle Groove (i had gotten this cd like a month ago, but as i mentioned then i had accidentally gotten the pre-bonus-track-remastered reissue...so upon seeing the better vesion in the used bin i couldn't pass it up...)
then i went to the game stop in the mall:
The Legend of Zelda: the Minish Cap for the GBA (my reason for going there...another necessity of course...)
Under the Skin for the PS2
after that i went over to Molly's house...Josh and Dustin were there...Josh had just gotten this Throbbing Gristle bootleg...it had two shows...the quality wasn't great (the sound was atrocious...) but it was fucking awesome just seeing footage of them...
yesterday The Family Ghost got together...the attempt was to record "Taken"...at the end we almost had it, but by the time we got everything sounding right our playing wasn't quite up to par 'cuz we were all so exhausted...it wasn't horrible, it just could easily be better...so hopefully we'll knock it out quickly next time...afterwards Amanda came over and her, Brad, and i went off in search of some food...it was a saturday night and every goddamned place was packed so we kept driving out farther until we finally ended up at the Ryu steakhouse and sushi bar...i'd never eaten there (except years ago when the building housed a chinese buffet place...) it was mighty fine eatin'...then later i went to Jacques/Amber's...Justin was there too...we watched a bunch of MST3K...Justin left just as Jacques was putting in what turned out to be the best fucking movie ever!!! it's called Dangerous Seductress...it's some indonesian witch/vampire/beach babe movie...it's truly one of the most amazingly bad things i've seen in my entire life...the scene with the walking finger started a chain reaction of laughter that left me unable to open my eyes for several minutes...the only lame thing was i was so sleepy by the end i passed out and didn't get to see the ending...but i'm sure we'll be watching that one again soon!!!
