Aaron, karaoke, and grades...the saga continues...

picked Jacques up from work last night...Paul was home at The Apartment but he was soon to leave...Jacques and i started playing his new PS game, Bust a Move 4...one of the coolest game series ever...it's similar to Puzzle Fighter, in a way...in a vague way...of the same ilk of puzzle games...it's all about matching up bubbles of the same color and "bust" them and whatnot...if you've never played it, i recommend this game...then (unsure of the order exactly) Paul left and David showed up w/ Aaron...cool as it's been quite the while since i've seen this dude (as he's been living in Nashville for some time...) they watched us play the game for a while then Jenna came over...she had presents for us...i got this mermaid that grows when put in water and this travel voodoo cushion...it was a thing of much rock...though i wasn't expecting any presents from her...now i'll have to get her something when i get some money, though that should be today...then we went to the horrid bar known as Neil's for karaoke...as it's a few blocks away we just walked, despite all the ice...but it wasn't as cold as one would've thought it would've been...it was an amusing sociological experience there, what w/ the mass amount of frat kids and the less-mass amount of g0th shockrockerz...as was requested, i butchered a Zeppelin song: "Whole Lotta Love" this time...i went for the screechy cock-rock vocal stylings this time...to my surprise though the frat boys found it amusing...they were either laughing w/ me or at me at any rate...which is good 'cuz they might've kicked my ass instead of just gonging me w/ a pot or something (which happened almost a year ago while butchering "Stairway..." at Karma's, the lesbian bar...) David also rushed up on "stage" w/ a bra on his head and grabbed my legs...Jacques did "China Girl"...they have Bowie's version, of course, but he sang as Iggy, of course...refusing to sing the parts that aren't in the original version, as well as throwing his usual Jacques commentary to the audience about date rape and procreation...nobody beat him up either...David, Jacques, and i were going to do the Brian Adams/Sting/Rod Stewart trio "All for Love" (from the 3 Musketeers sndtrck, if you may remember...) but it took 'em too long to get to us so we left...Aaron had his digital camera the whole time and was taking rad pictures...more sitting around The Apartment watching Jacques play Bust a Move...after a while we dispersed...this morning i went to my parents' computer and got my grades...here they are:

ENGL 3323 (AMER LIT W W I/PRESENT): A
COMP 4030 (INTRO TO ALGORITHMS): B
MATH 2321 (CALCULUS II): B
SPAN 3303 (COMPOSITION): B+

making my current gpa a 3.306 and bringing my cumulative back up to a 3.075...yayness or something...here's my little synopsis of the grades...i was expecting the A in english...i was at best hoping for a C in algorithms...don't quite know how the B happened but i won't argue...i guess i was expecting the B in calculus, but i was kind've hoping i did pull the ol' A off...(too many stupid mistakes on stuff...i guess...blah...i should've studied for the final...) as for spanish, i don't know how i got the B+...i didn't even think the school did +'s (as when i transferred from Knoxville, the B+ that i only got 'cuz of oversleeping when papers were due, damned 8am class, was transferred as a B...maybe that's been changed too...though i doubt it...maybe i'll talk to someone about it...[shrug]) that last composition that i did (the 1/2 page i did for a min 2 page paper...) was like 10% of the grade...maybe there was a curve sort of thing happening...i dunno...but i won't argue there either...i think i'll go clean some now...hopefully i can get around to some writing before the group meets tonight...ja...
