work today was alright...i didn't do much work..we've probably got a show early august (like the 13th or something...not sure exactly...) at the Caravan with that Billy dude's hardcore band that he said he doesn't really like himself as well as local hardcore rockstars Dead City...it should be funny if it transpires...though not as funny as playing with Valhalla Rising (well, maybe even funnier)...speaking of which i'd be nice timing 'cuz our proposed show with Valhalla Rising at the Complex around that same time, as Josh informed us tonight, will no longer be happening...oh well...anyway, we practiced tonight, though we got off to a late start...very late, actually...Amanda and Jason stopped by for a brief visit along with Pig so he ran around my apartment (well, on a leash) being very very excited...there was another pile of cat shit in the corner of the practice space today...now they're staying in Tim's room til he gets back from out of town...also, a swarm of ants was discovered entering the room through some ant-sized gap in one of the windows and climbing all over the table where the synths are!!! Amanda and Jason saved us by bringing over their ant spray so i sprayed all their asses and they died...hopefully i can do something to better seal it all...by damnit...when we finally got to rocking we only worked on one song...but it was the task of unearthing "The Great War" and showing it to Josh to come up with a new bass part and re-remembering our own parts...i think it's starting to sound really good...obviously still in the developmental stage, but Josh came up with a sweet reggae-rhythmed bass line and Jacques and i were messing around with delay on our guitar parts so the whole dub thing is starting to fall into place on it...i think it's already better than it ever was before, and i thought it was pretty cool back then too (all two fucking years ago since we played it...at least...) then we taped it and i listened to it again and it sounded pretty neat then too...i messed around with my new line selector pedal...i used it to have my two delay pedals running in parallel simultaneously in stead of in line...i mean, it's not that exciting, just a new pedal and the first time i've played with it so yeah...i guess that's all i really have to say for now...
