after my second class i went by Lastchance where i sold my Eater and Scream cds and purchased:
used:
Smog: Look Now single
Skinny Puppy: The Process
new (literally):
Sonic Youth + I.C.P. + The Ex: In the Fishtank
The Black Heart Procession: Amor del Tropico
Pavement: Slanted & Enchanted: Luxe & Reduxe
i didn't even know the Pavement thing existed...but there it was...yet ANOTHER great album that i already own that i have to buy again because it's been reissued as a 2 disc comp w/ loads of bonus material...now i need to get that 2 dvd collection that was just put out as well...after that i swung by the Memphis Drum Shop where i picked up two pair of my beloved Elvin Jones signature series drum sticks...napped...watched The Simpsons...before i left for my last class i placed a bid on ebay...there was a little over 30 min left before the auction's end...right away i was the high bidder but the price was instantly at my maximum bid (which was admittedly pretty high, but i don't guess for everyone's standards), i was expecting there to be a last minute bidding war on it (as had happened a few days earlier w/ someone else selling the same item...) so i was sure i wasn't going to win...but i just got home and i'm the winner...wow...so you know, the i shall be the proud owner of an ARP Sequencer...which will go perfectly w/ my ARP Avatar...i keep looking at that final price and almost shudder...oh well...when The Family Ghost is bustin' out w/ our cover of "Another the Letter" it will be worth it...the final project was due in my last class tonight...i didn't do it...there are three projects and we'll only be graded on the highest two...prob'ly not a wise move on my part, but not a fatal one either...hopefully...

after that i went over to David's for his birthday bash...when i arrived it was just him, Paul C., and Justin there...we watched Highway to Hell, which shouldn't be a good movie, but is in fact a really good movie...pizza was ordered and general coolness ensued...at some point Katie arrived as did Jason (a.k.a Troll), some girl he was with, and Chris Williams...then we watched Blazing Saddles...Monika arrived at some point and Jason and girl-whose-name-i-don't-remember left at some other point...oh yea, and Monika's second dog is one of the coolest dogs ever...it has the super-huge underbite and i have dubbed it Marlon Brandog...after a while the idea of Graceland Too popped up so we all piled into David's suv and went! dear fucking god it was one of the better trips! in certain aspects...when we arrived he was already giving a tour to a couple of sorority/frat folks from Ol' Miss, i think...the best part was at the end, after they left...once i asked about Cybill Shepherd saying anything about Elvis and he said he couldn't say w/ the girls around but "it had to do with tuna fish!" the best was him talking about someone wanting to sell him some land for $10 if he'd take care of their 31 year old kid who's "goofy"...then he mentioned something about hiring a sniper to kill him...several times he mentioned us getting someone to kill the guy...he was half joking and half not...then he mentioned how the land was on this hill overlooking the expressway and wondering how many ppl a sniper could kill from up there...it'd be a chain reaction...and this time when he mentioned kidnapping Sam Waldon's son (yes, he's mentioned this before) and holding him for ransom and for some reason killing him, we could put the blame on his son (Elvis Aaron Presley McCloud...) also, he seemed really desperate for company 'cuz he wouldn't quit talking even after it was over...it was the first time i'd ever seen him give a tour of the front yard...someone had painted the lion statues odd colors and these two off to the side had these fucking caps for red ink pins (the bic kind) for teeth just stuck in!!! i had already pointed them out to the others and was secretly laughing about it when he brought it up himself...said it made them look like they had just eaten raw flesh...then he mentioned going to Beale Street and getting buckets of barbecue to dump underneath them...another highlight of the tour's end was, in between saying stuff like "here's a picture of so-and-so" was him saying "here's some boards" yes, he specifically pointed out empty board, that will one day have pictures on them but as for now don't...brilliant...everyone should have the priviledge of seeing Graceland Too...
