I got this cd in the mail: v/a: Paleospectrophone Oppositions. (It's a compilation from Shaun Roberts in the UK who does these musique concrète comps where all the tracks are 4'33" in duration. Usually they're just online but they made a few physical copies of this one. He's always doing calls for contributions. I should try to do one at some point, maybe I'll think of it when I have the time later this year.) Also got some dress shoes in the mail. This is the third time we've tried different sizes (combinations of length/width) and they were never fitting me, send one pair back to get another to try on and finally none seemed to fit. The last one was both too tight and had my heel slipping out the back so I don't know how that works! Now on to try another brand. At night I went to Crosstown to see Cloudland Canyon do a live score of some Stan Brakhage films. It was very good. They even had some musicians from Memphis Symphony Orchestra (two violins, viola, cello, flute, bassoon, horn) being conducted by Alex. Graham had a vibraphone too so I wonder if he borrowed that from MSO as well. A ton of people were there as well (and a ton of people I know in addition to the ton I didn't know). Ended up talking to a few outside for a while afterwards. That's about it for now.
