ateolf: (synth & boobs)
In the evening, Mary Beth and I went to the Park again. A walk through the old forest. Then walking around the pond, we paused to watch the sunset change the lights in the sky. I'm pretty sure we saw some bats flapping about. I don't think I've seen bats in the Park before. Earlier in the day, tickets for Autechre's upcoming (in October) tour went on sale. I tried to get tickets for Atlanta but even though I was on the site watching the countdown until they went on sale and tried to order them the instant they were available, I got put in a queue and then they were sold out when I tried to get some (of course, scalped tickets for over four times their original value went on sale right away...love how scalping is now okay if a corporation is doing it...gotta love them bots). But then the tickets for Birmingham were through a different system and I was able to get them no problem. (The original plan was to get tickets to both as they're back-to-back and leading into a weekend, but out of the two, Birmingham will be probably be more enjoyable anyway!) Also, I put out the call for volunteers for my Memphis Concrète Scrap Metal Orchestra that will be doing the live score for The Terminator. I'm thinking I need three percussionists (I've written three parts in the sheet music for now anyway). Now I've had eight people express interest, so that's a plethora! I sent out information and a sample page of the score. The number might whittle down a bit after they process the details. Not sure what to do if I end up with more volunteers than expected. We'll see!
