Mary Beth and I did our Fresh Market grocery run during the ol' lunch break. Then after work I went over to Pugh's to get some pre-date-night flowers. It was slightly weird in there as it's apparent they get virtually no foot traffic in the actual store (maybe that impression was amplified by the fact that they were clearly in the beginnings of rearranging the decor for a Valentine's Day theme so most of the display stuff was in disarray and not put up). But they were nice and did the flowers thing. Then at night we went downtown to Catherine & Mary's to celebrate lunar new year, part of Mary Beth's initiative to focus on holidays that matter to her instead of all the traditional ones that she hates! So we had a very delicious four course meal and ate a whole lot. (We almost got two entrees but then decided to split that and it was a wise choice 'cuz we got stuffed.) My favorite was the scallops, but the duck on focaccia was almost as good and this one pasta whose name I forget was very good. It was all very good, but I'm just hitting some highlights. Okay, I'm still full just thinking about it. Also, a little after we had sat down, a small group comes and sits down in the table right next to us and Bennett, who I know on an acquaintance level but not well (I think we've met twice now where we were actually introduced, the first being that Drop Ceiling performance with Rob Magill that I played). Anyway, it's good on the one hand where we know each other well enough to just be like, oh hello in a pleasant way and it's fine that that's it. But also a little awkward because we're so close and it's hard to even just sit without having each other constantly in our lines of sight! But it didn't take long for it to be easier than it seemed like it would be at first. Okay, I'm blathering nonsense now!
