ateolf: (zoo and you)
I had some tea in the afternoon yesterday as I often do (which Mary Beth made for me as she always does). After my first cup I went back for a second cup. I saw a small spoon next to the teapot, not one of the smallest that we usually use for stirring tea and such, but one that on occasion does get used (technically an ice cream spade but it often gets used for other things). Okay, so I put in the sugar and milk and stir it with this spoon but then I see the smaller spoon on the other side of the teapot, oh well whatever. I take some sips and the tea tastes pretty damn weird. I ask Mary Beth if this other spoon was used for anything and she gets a concerned look on her face as she tells me she'd used it to spread her mackerel and olive oil on her lunch sandwiches. Then yep, fish and oil was what I was tasting (not overpowering, but enough to be pretty weird). I guess I had my "there was a fish in the percolator" moment. Anyway, she had to make me some more tea which was better. Yikes! Later at night we watched a bunch of Rick Steves' Europe (Scandinavian countries specifically).
