Movie and a Show

Last night Mary Beth and I went up to Crosstown for a movie. I guess it was the logical follow-up to last week's movie of that Powell and Pressburger documentary. So we watched The Red Shoes. It was my first time to see it and it was nice to catch it on the big big screen. It was really good so I enjoyed the experience thoroughly. Then we went straight from that over to the Hi Tone to catch a show, or at least most of a show. We missed the first band, but they're local so we can have another chance. We arrived while this band from Austin called Porcelain was playing, but we caught about thirty minutes so it seems we didn't miss much, maybe they'd just started or at the very most we missed one song. But they fuckin' ruled. They sound a lot like Unwound. And you don't hear bands like that very often and they did it very well. Then after that it was Pressed who ruled as always. And that was about it. I picked up a Porcelain shirt from the merch table. Mary Beth and I talked to Will and Zoe for a bit afterwards. Alright, now back to work, at least it's Friday!
