Business Hours
Sep. 2nd, 2024 10:13 amWe had a big plan of getting some barbecue. Mary Beth's had a hankerin' for some Tom's. So after making a quick run to TFM for a few things, I drove out to Tom's. Now, before I left I'd wanted to double check on the directions and when I'd pulled up the maps, google said it was closed on Sundays. Now when I'd checked previously, everything else was saying they were open til 5 on Sundays (I typically try to avoid google as much as possible) so I wasn't expecting that. I figured I'd try calling to see first and I called and there was no answer. Not a good sign, but lots of times restaurants are busy and the workers aren't able to get to the phones so I wasn't SURE so I drove out just-in-case. Well, yeah, it was closed. Didn't take as long to get there as I'd've expected, I guess the Sunday and holiday traffic levels helped me out. But on the way back, I thought maybe I could grab some barbecue from Bain instead. Well, by then it was like a quarter after 4 and turns out they close at 4 on Sundays! (The humor in it all being that since it's right there in the neighborhood, if I'd have just gone straight there I could have caught it, but oh well, nothing stays open much anymore so what can you do!) We went on a walk just as it was starting to turn dark. We were planning on leaving before it was dark but it's starting to move earlier and we got held up so it was more of a walk in the dark than not. But it was still nice and we still managed to see a few cats. We watched some Golden Girls after that. Then at night we had our exchange for the next season of Spousal Book Club. I should finish my current book tomorrow so I'll be starting in on it soon!
A little detail from the show on Saturday that I forgot to mention. We were being followed by these people doing a "rave" in the main bar room. Throughout the night they'd kept poking their heads in our room to see if we were done or how much longer we'd be. Anyway, as soon as Art finished, like with a seamless transition, they started going with the four-to-the-floor beat. So they were just rearin' to go. Then as he was breaking stuff down, Michael (Drekka) was like, I thought they said this was a "rave" but it sounds like what you'd hear at a sports bar. Which I thought was an accurate and amusing comment, as did sound like the most generic and tepid club remix kinda stuff. But hey, I guess they were having fun!
