I got my new phone battery delivered, finally! A little annoyed because I paid a little bit extra for the faster shipment (because, having a phone with a stable battery is pretty important and time sensitive!), it wasn't much extra, less than a dollar, but still! I paid for the 3-5 day window and got the battery in 7 days! Well, so I did what I didn't think I'd ever do and replaced a part in a smartphone. It wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. The hardest part, it seems, taking the back off the phone, was already accomplished by the expanding battery so it was already all open. I just had to unscrew some tiny things and disconnect some other things. It's weird knowing that so much of smartphones are just held together by glue. That's pretty much all that holds the back onto the phone. The battery was kinda glued in too, and one other part was kinda glued to the side. But slowly and steadily pushing up the battery with a small screwdriver did the trick. Now the new battery is in. It couldn't have come any later as now I see I have to go through all these charging acrobatics. Had to get it up to full charge plugged in and then keep plugged in two more hours last night. Then I'm supposed to drain the battery all the way down. The charge up to full once more. Currently the battery is at 48%. I'm trying to see what I can do to get it down as fast as possible so I can have it for all the stuff I'm doing tonight and tomorrow! Anyway, other than that I practiced for my set for the tribute show (tomorrow). I think things are coming together pretty well. I did a timed run-through and it seems to be good. Hopefully my setup won't be too much of a hassle given that I have a little bit of extra stuff!
