I noticed that it looked like Nerd Alert had closed and I was worried but then looked it up online and their posting activity made it look like they were very much open. So I was relieved, but then dug a little deeper and realized that they had moved to Collierville. They still own the midtown location and are planning on reopening it as kind of a secondhand/artists market (and maybe even doing music shows there), which sounds cool too, but damn, I'll miss the videogames. It was the only arcade related thing in town that I really like (out of, admittedly, scant few choices). I get it, as their old location was cramped as hell. I had only been the one time, for my birthday last year, but I enjoyed it a lot (they opened right during covid so it took me a while before I was even comfortable going). I can still go, I know, but I see myself going out to fucking Collierville even much less often than, you know, practically down the street from me (and aside from the drive, it just sucks BEING in Collierville, ya know!). Oh well!
