Peace

So I did go and check out the pipe in the basement and found the cause of the noise. It was a pump inside the drain pipe in the middle of the floor and it was running and making its own noise and causing the pipe that leads up to the basement ceiling (right underneath our floor) and runs along it to vibrate (which is what we were hearing). That pipe also seemed to have some very old fasteners that had come off or loose, including disintegrated duct tape. So knowing the cause, I texted the landlord. Shortly afterwards the noise stopped. But then a little after THAT the landlord replied asking for more details so it was a complete coincidence that it'd stopped on its own right after texting him. But somebody did come by a little later in the afternoon to check it out. But now it's quiet in the bedroom and it was so luxurious at night. Also yesterday I got a package with a couple cds in it (coming all the way from Australia): Hyunhye Seo: Eel and Megan Alice Clune: If You Do. I bummed myself out in the afternoon because I'd been following this ebay auction for that Lou Reed drone album and had been following it quite regularly, up until a couple hours before the end and then at the critical moment I just got caught up and forgot completely and missed it and it went for a low price (when otherwise I just see it going for way too much). I mean, I might not have won it and it would likely have gone up more if I'd bid, but still! Forgetting to try after I'd been focused on it a little bit! Ah well. At night Mary Beth and I went up to Crosstown to watch The Elephant 6 Recording Co. (a documentary about...I'm not going to tell you, you'll never know!). It was pretty good. I'd always been a bit on the fence on the Elephant 6 stuff. I like some of it. A lot of it's VERY Beatles-y, of course, and that aspect's a bit hard for me to get past. I like that famous Neutral Milk Hotel album quite a bit and I have one from The Music Tapes (I was into that a long time ago though I admittedly haven't listened to it in forever). I had one from Olivia Tremor Control once, long back, and liked half of it and felt the other half sounded just like "Penny Lane" played over and over. Anyway, the documentary was an enjoyable watch. We ran into a ton of people afterwards. Okay, now it's Friday and a holiday weekend!
