Yesterday afternoon Mary Beth and I tried to see what was up with the Skol-astic book fair being held at some brewery downtown (uptown). The whole thing seemed like it might be okay but might be kinda dumb with a whole, "bring back the joy of your childhood book fairs...but with beer." It was okay, about what you'd expect but maybe not quite as annoying. Different people with different tables. The Cossitt library branch had a booth and they actually had a rack of some decent used books for sale. It was pretty crowded but I guess could have been worse. It seemed like a huge line if you wanted something to drink but we didn't. We wandered around a little bit and then left. While we were nearby we went over to Cordelia's and picked up way too much in baked goods. Then we went back home and to Fresh Market to pick up take-out dinner. And I ate too much and got so insanely full I could barely move myself for a few hours. And that's our day! I remembered something I forgot to put in my last post. So on Friday night I was going to go to this show, but it was a house show and they'd had their power out and it got cancelled. Also, found out from the person I was going to see that they were going to drop off the show anyway because they'd just found out that someone they were playing with (someone we both know and I've known for a long time as an acquaintance and have played shows with and thought was nice and decent and all that) had abused an ex. So yeah, all that sucks.
