Sort of a weirdly crazy day yesterday. Well, it started when we decided we'd chomp on some burritos from Maciel's for lunch, so I placed the order online for pickup and paid in advance and all that. I get no estimate of time so I finally call and then go up there. Well...I'd forgotten yesterday was Cooper-Young Fest! (So Maciel's is on Cooper and the day of the festival that whole part of the street is blocked off with vendors and such.) I was coming up via the backstreets anyway so it took me longer to realize, though it did get me closer. At first I'm thinking all the traffic and parked cars meant a football game (which there may be that too). But as I get close to Cooper I realize what day it is. I mazed around a bit to get to the right side street. The parking lot was roped off so I just parked my car in front of the trashcans blocked another roped-off parking lot and put on my flashers and hoped the car would be alright until I got back! I just had to pick it up and they said it was ready when I called (since I didn't get any kind of notice otherwise) so it should be real quick, in and out, right? Well, there's a line and everyone's busy but it doesn't take too terribly long. I get my stuff and get out and the car's still there and no ticket's there so I get back. It did set me back a little time-wise and had to eat pretty quickly to scramble and get to the post office in time to mail a package. Then I went and got the car's oil changed (thankfully we have a Valvoline pretty close by again). That was the main craziness. Mary Beth and I spent the afternoon watching a bunch of good Simpsons. Now I'm up to work this morning for our big release. I almost went into the office but realized no one else (but my manager) was going to so that'd be pointless! And happy to be home! Here's a couple of things I meant to mention earlier. Trudy's eye got better the next day! That was a huge relief. In Duolingo, once again, as I approach the end of the penultimate unit, a new unit pops up. Well, this one that just did is unit ten so hopefully that's a good place for them to stop, right?
